  • Southern California is bracing for what the National Weather Service calls a "particularly dangerous situation" when it comes to fires. That starts early Tuesday, although forecasters say winds will not be as extreme as last week. (LAist)

  • The death toll in the Eaton and Palisades fires rose sharply Sunday to 24, with eight additional deaths confirmed by the medical examiner. Both fires are now among the 20 most deadly in state history. At least 16 people have been killed in the Eaton Fire, all in Altadena, and eight in the Palisades Fire. (LAist)
