Hi CalMatters reader β it may feel like the primary election was just yesterday, but the November 3 midterm election is right around the corner. Today, we started publishing new information on our voter guide about the candidates and ballot propositions.
π£οΈ The candidates: Our voter guide highlights what you need to know about the candidates who are running for the California Assembly, state Senate, U.S. House, insurance commissioner and other statewide offices. You will also pick who replaces term-limited Gov. Gavin Newsom as our next governor.
During the primary, many of you asked for information on the state Supreme Court retention election, so we created a page with details on the associate justices. We also used your feedback to update our voter guide FAQ.
π³οΈ The propositions: You will choose the fate of 14 ballot measures (see the full list). We have published guides and quizzes on the following propositions so far:
Each week our team will publish more voter guide resources on the other propositions, and Iβll send you email updates when those are live.
ποΈ Key election dates
-
Oct. 5 - Mail-in ballots sent out to registered voters
-
Oct. 6 - Secure ballot drop-off locations open
-
Oct. 19 - Last day to register to vote
-
